Irish basketball team faces Providence Saturday

After consecutive overtime wins, the Notre Dame men's basketball team heads out of South Bend for two road games in three days, beginning with a matchup at Providence Saturday at Noon.

Notre Dame is coming off a 5-OT win over Louisville last Saturday and then a single overtime victory over DePaul on Wednesday to improve to 20-5 on the season and 8-4 in the Big East.

The Irish are in a 3-way tie for 4th place in the conference standings, but just one game out of 1st place.

Providence is 5-7 in the Big East and 13-11 overall.

After the Rhode Island trip, Notre Dame heads to Pittsburgh to face the Panthers Monday night.
