Irish RB's coach a fan of Bryant's confidence

Notre Dame running back Greg Bryant didn't do much at all in freshman season at Notre Dame due to injuries and then an eventual medical redshirt.

He says he was humbled by his rookie campaign.

But that doesn't mean he's lost any bit of confidence. In fact, Bryant is as confident of a player in his own abilities as you will. That's not a knock, it's just a fact. The kid very much believes in what he can do and his position coach likes that.

"I like Greg's energy," Irish running back's coach Tony Alford says. "You know he says some things and people may take it as being conceited, but that's not who he is. He's just confident in his ability. It's not trying to be disrespectful to an opponent or anyone else.

"That young guy feels that he's a good player and if you ask him he'll tell you and I don't have a problem with that."
