The Wawasee football team reached the sectional finals last year for the first time since playing for a state title in 2004.
The Warriors look to build on that success in 2013 but will have to do so with a new head coach. Tom Wogoman leaves the Warriors after three straight winning seasons. Wogoman is now the head coach at Northridge.
Josh Ekovich takes over and he's bringing a new style.
“We just have more up-paced practice, little more intensely focusing more effort - opposed to the knowledge stuff which will come as the weeks go on but you can’t substitute effort or intensity. So that’s the biggest changes this year,” explained Ekovich.
Wawasee will host Whitko in the season opener next Friday.
