A winning tradition has been hard to come by for the LaVille football program. In fact, the Lancers have won just one game over the last two seasons.
This year they have a new head coach but Will Hostrawser isn't a new face. He's already been the school's Athletic Director for the last few years.
He likes what he sees so far in camp and says numbers are good in terms of total players in the system.
"It's been very nice," Hostrawser says. "There's a renewed enthusiasm in our football program."
LaVille has not had a winning season since winning a sectional championship back in 2003.
"In the past we haven't had too much success in terms of wins and losses but I think our kids are working towards erasing that," Hostrawser says. "We want to earn respect from not only our school and community but also from our opponents as well."
LaVille opens the 2013 season this Friday night at home against South Central Union Mills.
