Golson on track for re-admission but unlikely to practice leading up to bowl game

Suspended Notre Dame Quarterback Everett Golson is on track for re-admission to the university, and he's expected to get the official word in the next two weeks.

Golson was removed from school for the entire fall semester after cheating on a test back in May.

It was expected Golson would practice with the team leading up to a bowl game but that's looking less likely now depending on when Notre Dame plays its bowl game.

Golson is not allowed to practice at the bowl site or play in a bowl game. He can only get time with the team in the days before Notre Dame would depart campus. With finals going until December 20th, that window may not exist for him to do so---if the Irish get selected for an early bowl game.

If Notre Dame somehow gets into a bowl game in January then the possibility would open again for Golson to be able to possibility practice with the team.

Golson was Notre Dame's starting quarterback in 2012, leading the Irish to an undefeated regular season and a spot in the BCS National Championship game. Without Golson, the Irish were 8-4 in 2013.
