South Bend, Ind. With Brian Kelly's squad on the road this weekend, another sport has taken their place in the spotlight in South Bend.
The Compton Family Ice Arena was packed with hockey fans Saturday but they weren't there to see the Irish team play.
Instead, it was the Chicago Blackhawks.
The reigning Stanley Cup champions are in town for their 2013 training camp and, as you can imagine, tickets sold out quickly.
Notre Dame's campus was swarming with thousands of people ready to watch the hawks take the ice.
For many folks, it was exciting to see their favorite Chicago team play locally.
“It's great, I drive truck for a living and when she told me she got tickets I about drove off the road I was so happy,” Steve Shrock said.
The hawks will continue their training camp at the Compton this weekend.
Sunday's session is sold out as well.
