ELKHART, Ind.--- Some Elkhart kids got a visit from a football star from their hometown Thursday.
Elkhart native Nathan Palmer, a wide receiver for the Denver Broncos, spoke to kids in the "Youth Summer Program" at the Tolson Center.
The program is for first through sixth grade students.
They spend the summer going on field trips and working on team building, among other things.
Palmer even sang for the students, and spoke about coming from the city with a heart and making it big.
“A lot of times guys that aren't from here, come here, they speak about having goals and dreaming big, it's a little different because they're not from here, so it's like we're from Elkhart, we're from this little city are you sure we can make it?,” said Palmer. “I'm here to be like I’m from Elkhart, I’m from this little city and I made it.”
He told those in attendance to never give up on their dreams.
