The Eddies of Edwardsburg have gotten out to a perfect start in 2013. So far they are 6-0 and looking to make that 7-0 this Friday night on the road at Berrien Springs.
While a perfect record is always impressive, the Eddies have done so in convincing fashion. Right now they are out scoring their opponents 225-43 and their smallest margin of victory was 18 points.
"Offensively we have been putting a lot of points up but we are probably more impressive defensively," head coach Kevin Bartz said. "The kids are excited, our fans are excited, so it has been a great season so far."
This week the Eddies travel to Berrien Springs to take on a 2-4 Shamrock team. Coach Bartz doesn't want to see his team have a let down this week because he knows how dangerous the Shamrocks can be.
"Berrien Springs has two division one football players starting on defense for them," Coach Bartz said. "One is going to Michigan State and one to Missouri. They are going to give us a big challenge up front. Our strength is our offensive line. Their strength, I believe, is there defensive front. We are going to have quite a match up going against Berrien Springs, I think they are the toughest team we have faced so far."
Kickoff between the Eddies and the Shamrocks is set for 7 p.m. this Friday night.
