Skylar Diggins had her best scoring performance of her professional career but it wasn't enough to edge Britney Griner and the Phoenix Mercury in the first head-to-head WNBA battle between the former NCAA rivals.

Diana Taurasi scored 29 points, and DeWanna Bonner had 23 to help the Phoenix Mercury beat the Tulsa Shock 108-103 in overtime Sunday.

It's the 4th overtime loss for Diggins and the Shock, who fall to 1-7.

Glory Johnson had career-best 32 points for Tulsa. Riquna Williams added a career-high 28, hitting six 3-pointers, and Diggins had a season-best 22.

Candice DuPree added 20 points and 10 rebounds, Griner finished with 16 points, and Charde Houston had 10 for the Mercury (3-3).

The second half featured eight ties and 11 lead changes before Taurasi took over, scoring eight points in the overtime period.
