CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. Boston area natives Pat Connaughton and Zach Auguste combined for 27 points as the Irish men's basketball team won its first road win of the season, defeating Boston College 73-69 in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
It's 2nd straight win for the Irish, which improves to 14-12 overall and 5-8 in the ACC.
Connaughton led Notre Dame with 17 points while Zach Auguste scored 10. Eric Atkins added 16 points for Notre Dame. Tom Knight contributed 10 points and nine rebounds, just missing out on his first career double double.
It's the first road win ever in the ACC for the Irish, which also play their next two games on the road at Miami on Wednesday and then at Virginia on Saturday.
The Irish will get a boost on Monday with the return of freshman Demetrius Jackson, who has missed the last two games to focus on academics. Mike Brey told Jack Nolan on the Irish basketball radio broadcast that Jackson will travel rejoin the team on Monday and travel to Miami for Notre Dame's next game.
Notre Dame also defeated Boston College at Purcell Pavilion 15 days ago on buzzer beater in overtime.
