INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indianapolis won seven of the first nine AFC South titles. Now, the Colts are back on top of the division.
For the first time in the post-Peyton Manning era, Indianapolis (4-1) has taken sole possession of the division lead - one game ahead of Tennessee and two ahead of two-time defending division champ Houston with no intention of giving it up. The Colts are one of four NFL teams with a perfect road record, already have one road win in their division and have beaten two of the NFC title favorites.
With Houston (2-3) reeling and injured Titans quarterback Jake Locker still out, the Colts have a chance to take control of their division race before their bye week at the end of October.
