Blue Gold weekend means a lesson in life after football

Blue Gold weekend is full of events, and while many people look forward to the unveiling of “The Shirt,” football players come to campus to learn a lesson on life after football.

A group of 23 current and former NFL players participated in a program that focuses on financial planning. The program was started by former Irish players, Brady Quinn and Jeff Faine to show players how they can better plan their financial futures for their days after graduation and after football.

Faine spoke earlier today about the timing of this weekend’s player symposium.

“I wanted it to have it around the time of the Blue and Gold game. To open up different experiences and show people who may not have had the opportunity to come here, who may have gone to one of our opponents over the years and just give them the experience of what this place really is. Because these guys could be the best marketers for Notre Dame,” said Faine.
