Bethel advances to 2nd round of NAIA National Basketball Tourney

The Bethel College men's basketball team continued to stay perfect in the first round of the NAIA D-II National Basketball Tournament by defeating No. 16 Embry-Riddle (FL) 73-49.

Mishawaka High School standout Ryan Benner led the way pouring in 27 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists. Jordan Bowerman pumped in 19 points while Matt Schauss added six points, passed out five assists and hauled down 11 rebounds.

The Pilots shot 46 percent from the field and outrebounded ERAU 44-32.

Bethel advances to the second round on Friday at noon CST playing the winner of No. 1 William Penn and McPherson College.
