Friday Night Football: Week 6

For the Jimtown seniors, defeating Concord should have meant a whole lot.

After all, they haven't seen their school beat the Minutemen since they were in 6th grade.

The Jimmies did get the win, but it came under very unfortunate circumstances.

With 3:12 left in the game, Jimtown junior Matt Peters suffered a severe leg injury.

This ended the game. Jimtown was up 35-14 at the time.

The Jimmies are 6-0 on the season.

Ryan Konrath led the way with 3 touchdowns--2 rushing and 1 passing.

Nick Magyar rushed for 178 yards and a touchdown.

Concord is now 4-2.

In the Pizza Hut Spotlight Game of the Week, Penn rolled over Riley 42-8.

The Kingsmen took a 14-0 lead into the 2nd quarter when quarterback Coley Moore rushed it in from 3 yards out.

In the 2nd quarter, Moore faked the handoff to Brandon Drudge, then hit Drudge on a screen pass. Drudge followed blockers all the way into the endzone for a 28-yard score.

Penn is now 6-0. Riley drops to 1-5.
-----------
St. Joe handed Clay its first NIC loss 21-18 at Clay Field.

The Indians took an early 7-0 lead when Dustin White recovered from a stumble and rushed it in 7 yards for the touchdown.

Clay responded with an Austin Gammage 3 yard TD run. The Colonials missed the point after and trailed 7-6.

St. Joe took a 14-6 lead into the half when QB Joe Hecklinski hit Jordan Taylor for a 20 yard touchdown.

Clay would take the lead in the 4th quarter, but a late St. Joe score would end a 2-game losing streak for the Indians.
-----------
In Michigan, the area's other St. Joe, the Bears, defeated Niles 21-6.

This game was a defensive battle until St. Joe QB Ethan Schweir hit Brad Guinane for a 30 yard touchdown pass.

The Bears went up 7-0 and never looked back.

St. Joe is now 5-0 on the season.
---------
Coloma is also still undefeated.

The Comets were big winners on Friday night, defeating Edwardsburg 52-20.

Coloma is 5-0.
