In one of the biggest upsets in years, 5th-ranked Michigan may have seen their National Championship hopes already ruined.

Down 31-25 with 4:30 left in the game, Heisman Trophy candidate Mike Hart busted one for 54 yards to give Michigan a 32-31 lead.
With a chance to extend the lead to 4 points, Michigan had a field goal attempt blocked.
Appalachian State marched down field and with 30 seconds left, kicked a field goal to take a 34-32 lead.
With 5 seconds left, Michigan had a chance to win it but again had its field goal blocked.
