FNF Week 3: Concord beats Northwood in Thriller

Rivals Concord and Northwood battled in the Pizza Hut Spotlight Game of the Week Friday Night.

And boy was it a battle.

With less than 2 minutes left in the game, Northwood's Skylar Titus scores on 4th and goal to cut the Concord lead to 35-34.

Northwood would elect to go for two and try and win the game but the Panthers would lose the ball on the handoff and fail to convert.

Concord would win a thriller 35-34.
At Freed Field, it was all Penn as the Kingsmen torched Marian 47-7.

Coley Moore connected with Ryan Kaczmarski and Garrick Dykos for touchdown passes early in the game to setup a 40-0 halftime lead for Penn.

Now 3-0, Penn entered the night ranked 2nd in the state. They will likely move up to #1 thanks to a loss by Carmel. It would be the first time since 2002 the Kingsmen would be ranked #1.
In other NIC action, it was a battle of unbeatens as St. Joe hosted Mishawaka at Marian High.

This one was a defensive battle that saw St. Joe take an 8-6 lead into halftime.

Dustin White scored on 5-yard touchdown early in the 4th to give the Indians a 15-6 lead.

Jordan Taylor added a score with less than a minute left in the game as St. Joe went on to the 21-6 win.

The Indians are now 3-0 while the Cavemen drop to 2-1.
It was stepdad vs. stepson at Goshen High School Friday Night.

Legendary coach Phil Teegarden brought his winless Elkhart Memorial Chargers into Goshen to face his stepson's undefeated Redskins.

Former Penn and Ball State quarterback Brent Baldwin is in his first year as the head coach at Goshen.

This won belong to Teegarden and Memorial, however.

Sophomore Zach Corpe busted one for 45 yards to give the Chargers a 10-0 lead.

Later in the 1st half, Scott Sindle connected with Chad Coffey for a touchdown to make it 17-0.

Memorial went on to the 24-13 win.
