He stands just 5'6" and weighs only 150 pounds.
But there is no catchy speedy Mishawaka running back Steve Sandefer.
In Week 2, Sandefer rushed for 279 yards and had two touchdowns in the Cavemen's 34-0 win over Laporte.
This week, the Cavemen have another tough task facing another unbeaten St. Joe.
Sandefer credits his success to his offensive line.
"I can hide behind them pretty well and just kind of run around people," the junior explains.
"Couple of comments were that I kind of hide in the grass because our grass was so high last friday," Sandefer joked. "But its probably easier to hide behind my lineman because i'm so small."
""He's had a good first two games," Mishawaka head coach Jim Aldrich said.
"The Offensive line just as has to keep on blocking well. If they do and the fullback blocks well, our running game will work. We just have to make sure we do all the little things right."
It will be a battle of running games on Friday night. St. Joe poses a very good one as well. The Tribe have two fantastic backs, including Big Ten prospect Jordan Taylor.
Taylor and fullback Dustin White provide an explosive duo that can keep opposing defenses guessing.
