Brandywine's season ends in girls hoops state semifinals

Brandywine's quest to win a state championship came two wins short.

The Bobcats magical run through the Michigan state playoffs ended Thursday in the Class C state semifinals to St. Ignace 64-35 at the Breslin Center in East Lansing.

Brandywine ends its season with a 24-2 record.

Lauren Leonard led the Bobcats with 13 points, but she was the team's only player to score in double figures.

Brandywine jumped out to a 7-0 lead, before failling behind 13-11 after the 1st quarter. At halftime, the Bobcats were still within seven. But St. Ignace blew the game open in the 3rd en route to the lopsided victory.
