Believe it or not, opening night for high school football is just three weeks away, with practices beginning this Monday.
S.B. Adams, S.B. Riley, S.B. Clay, S.B. St. Joseph, Marian, New Prairie and John Glenn took part in picture day at the College Football Hall of Fame on Friday.
One team that is looking for a big season this fall is Marian. The Knights were 8-3 last year and lost in the 3A sectional semis.
They have a huge senior class back, returning 25 players. That gives them a lot of confidence heading into the season.
Head Coach Reggie Glon, entering his 14th year in charge of the Knights, believes his team has what it takes to win a championship in 2007.
He says that in years past, Marian has produced very competitive and productive seasons, but that now is the time for them to win a sectional or league title.
Senior lineman Chris Brennan agrees. He believes that with so many players knowing each other so well, the team is ready to acheive big things.
The Knights open up August 17th on the road at South Bend Washington.
There will also be a new look to our coverage of high school football on NewsCenter 16. It is called Friday Night Football. As we get closer to the start of the season, we will have details on what you, the fan, can expect on Friday Night Football.
