Clash at the Cove IX

Chains, tables, haircuts and WWE Legends (minus Roddy Piper) highlighted Clash at the Cove IX at Coveleski Stadium Saturday Night.

More than 800 fans were in attendance for the event.

WWE Hall of Famer Rowdy Roddy Piper was the featured attraction, but was no where to be found as the main event arrived.

Promoter/wrestler Brian Costello informed the crowd just before the start of the main event that Piper was not there. He said Piper had been in town earlier in the day, but left due to a family emergency.

There was a strong amount of boos from the crowd when they heard the news that Piper was not there. Many of the fans were there specifically to see the former world champion.

In an effort to try and make up for Piper not being a part of the event, Costello put his IAW Championship on the line in a triple threat match against WWE Legends, and former tag-team partners Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake.

After 10 minutes of in-ring action, which featured signature chops, the figure four leglock and the sleeper, the match headed to the outside.

As Valentine and Beefcake battled on a table, Costello sneaked back into the ring before the 10-count to win by countout and retain the IAW Championship.

After the match, Costello got an additional treat.

Beefcake grabbed his trusty hair clippers and chopped off some of Costello's prized blonde hair.

It appeared for one night "The Dream Team" of Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake were back together.

There were 6 matches on the night. The event ran just over 2 hours with a long intermission before the final two matches for an autograph and picture session with Valentine and Beefcake.
