Hoosier Hysteria is back for a special edition of Round Ball Round Up, sponsored by Comcast.
The 100th edition of the Indiana HS boys basketball playoffs tipped off Tuesday night across the state.
A year ago, the Clay Colonials beat Washington at the buzzer to win the 4A sectional championship.
Tuesday, the South Bend City rivals squared off in the opening round and it came down to a shot at the buzzer from Clay again. This time, the shot didn't go down and Washington prevailed 50-47 to advance to Friday's semifinals.
Despite being the reigning sectional champions, Clay entered the game with just four wins on the season and none in conference play. Yet, the Colonials jumped out to a double digit lead before Washington mounted its comeback in the 2nd half.
The Panthers will face Mishawaka in Friday's first game at 6pm at Riley High School. Game two will feature Penn taking on Riley.
The host Wildcats finished with a perfect Northern Indiana Conference record, defeating the Kingsmen during league play. Penn did beat Riley, however, in the conference Holiday Hoops Tourney.
Riley had a first round bye while Penn topped Adams 60-51 Tuesday night. The Eagles led at halftime by two points until the Kingsmen pulled away from there.

At North Side Gym, Hoosier Hysteria started in the perfect way with arch rivals Memorial and Central squaring off in the 4A Elkhart Sectional.
Michael Kibiloski scored Memorial's first seven points and the Chargers never looked back, defeating Central 60-51 in front of a packed house. Kibiloski finished with 18 points.
Memorial led 11-6 after one quarter and 32-17 at the half. Central battled back in the 3rd quarter but the double digit deficit was too much to overcome.
Chris Holt led The Blazers with 19 points.
Memorial will face Northridge Friday at 8pm in the sectional semifinals back at North Side.
The other semifinal will feature Warsaw and Concord at 6:30 on Friday.
The NLC champion Tigers had a bye in the 1st round while Concord defeated Goshen 52-43 in the opening game on Tuesday.
Doug Acker led the Minutemen with 24 points. Concord led by double digits in the 4th quarter but allowed Goshen to pull back within three in the final minutes.
Minutemen head coach Steve Austin said mistakes like that can't happen, especially Friday night when they face Warsaw.
