One of the worst days ever for Chisox

Justin Morneau clubbed three home runs as the Minnesota Twins demolished the White Sox in the nightcap of a day-night doubleheader, 12-0 at US Cellular Field. That's bad enough but in the afternoon game, the Twins won 20-14.

Major League Baseball statisticians were still going over records to find out if the 32 runs surrendered by one team on one day is a record. It's also being researched if a team has ever scored 14 runs in one end of a doubleheader and then was shut out in the other game.

In the afternoon game, Jason Kugel had a grand slam and seven RBI
