Mishawaka wins HS wrestling regional title

The Mishawaka wrestling team is headed back to the state finals. And they did it in dominent fashion.

The Cavemen did not lose a single match in either the semifinal or championship round of regionals---beat Wawasee 76-0 and then Jimtown 63-0.

The Jimmies were undefeated heading into the regional final.

Mishawaka is still undefeated---they are 27-0.

Even when it looked like Jimtown might win a match, the Cavemen battled back. At 145 pounds, Darius Marshall erased a big 3rd period deficit to edge Mike Souders.

At 152, Ryan Stahl pinned Jeff Burghduf. Then came 160 where Alex White escaped a pin at the hands of Jimtown freshman Tanner Adams. White responded by not only coming from behind to win the match, but also pinning Adams in dramatic fashion.
