Six starters over 40 got the call on Wednesday

On Wednesday, there were seven starting pitchers all of whom were 40 or over. But one never got the chance. Kenny Rogers was set to throw for the Tigers on Wednesday but rain postponed the game against his former team, Texas. Here is how the other six veteran pitchers did in their starts.

Roger Clemens, Yankees (age 43)-Took the loss, 4-0, to the Orioles in Baltimore.

Jamie Moyer, Phils (age 44) No decision against the Reds, didn't allow a hit until the sixth.

Woody Williams, Astros (age 40) No decision in loss to Milwaukee.

John Smoltz, Braves (age 40) Was the winner in 13-0 rout vs Washington.

Greg Maddux, Padres (age 41) Got the 4-2 win over San Francisco

Tom Glavine, Mets (age 40) Got the win as Mets won, 2-0 over the Cardinals in six innings, called due to rain
