The Detroit Tigers just finished an 8-1 road trip which was a first for the history-rich franchise. Now the bullpen failings have the Tigers scratching to get a win over the lowly Texas Rangers.
The 'pen gave up eight runs to the Rangers on Tuesday. This was in the midst of Detroit rallying to tie the game at six in the 8th. Todd Jones was again the incendiary of the night. In the ninth, Jones got two outs, but could not close the inning. Marlon Byrd's two-run triple was the big hit in the 9-6 Rangers win.
