Alfonso Soriano delivered a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the ninth to give the Cubs a 10-9 win over the Rockies on Monday at Wrigley Field.
Relievers Scott Eyre and Bobby Howry allowed the Rockies to score six runs in the 9th before the Cubs rallied. Chicago was aided by a critical error by Kaz Matsui before Soriano's big hit.
Chicago remains 6 1/2 games behind Milwaukee in the NL Central.
