After battling back from 5-0 deficit, the Cubs had a typical Cubs like 9th inning, losing 6-5 to the Rangers in Texas.
With one out in the 9th, cubs pitcher Bob Howry fielded a grab ball and trapped Ranger Kenny Lofton between 2nd and 3rd. Howry chased after Lofton, but threw late as Lofton re-treated to 2nd base. Lofton beat the throw and was safe.
The very next batter, pinch hitter Frank Catalanatto, hit a liner to right field. RF Angel Pagan nearly made a fantastic catch, but couldn't hold. Lofton scored the winning run giving the Rangers the 6-5 win.
The Cubs scored 4 runs in the 5th and then tied the game in the 6th on a Derrek Lee RBI.
The Cubbies have lost 4 of 5 games. They will now face the White Sox in the Crosstown Classic. The first game of the series is Friday at 4PM.
