Irish Football Lands 15th Recruit

Charlie Weis and the Irish football team have landed their 15th verbal committment.

According to rivals.com, safety Robert Blanton of Butler High School in Matthews, NC has agreed to play at Notre Dame.

Blanton is a 4-star safety who intercepted seven passes in 2006.

He is the first defensive back in the recruiting class for ND.

He stands 6'1" and weighs 177 pounds.

Blanton runs the 40 in 4.5 seconds and benches 215 pounds.

He was recruited by Defensive Coordinator Corwin Brown.

He chose ND over the likes of Michigan, Georgia, South Carolina and NC State.
