Lou Holtz has been delivering motivation speeches his entire life.
He spent 11 seasons as the Notre Dame football coach, using his words and wisdom to inspire young men to do good things on and off the football field.
10 years ago, he had to deliver the most important motivational speech of his life---to his wife Beth, who was diagnosed with Throat Cancer.
Since then, Beth has defeated cancer and is a true survivor.
Today, Holtz delivered another motivational speech about conquering cancer---this time at the Goshen Health System annual "True Celebration."
It was a celebration of life and survival in the face of adversity as cancer survivors gathered Sunday.
Organizers say the event is centered on the patients and the successes they have had battling cancer.
Survivors at Sunday’s event were thankful that their caregivers stressed the positive.
Some say a positive outlook is crucial in overcoming the struggle with cancer.
“Anything positive, any positive energy that can be brought into this, I think you need. I intend the cancer to get tired of dealing with me before I get tired of dealing with it,” said Charles Walton, who was diagnosed in 2004.
