In the 3-A Semi-State round, St. Joe was no match for Jarrod Parker and Norwell High School.
Parker, selected 9th overall in Thursday's Major League Baseball Draft, brought his 95 MPH fastball with him en route to an 11-0 win.
The senior pitched a 5-inning complete game, striking out 7 while giving up just one hit.
Eric Roof has the honor of saying he picked up a hit off of Parker, who could be a major league star one day. Parker was picked by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 1st round. He has not officially made his decision whether to start his pro career now or attend Georgia Tech.
The loss ends the season for the Indians. It was a banner first-year for Head Coach John Gumpf, however, leading St. Joe to the Semi-State for the 1st time in school history.
