Brian VanDuyn didn't have a great start to his senior season for the Penn Kingsmen. The 6'0" pitcher began his senior campaign losing three straight games.
He hasn't lost since, winning 8 consecutive contests.
The latest was the biggest of his career, a 6-1 victory over S.B. Clay in the IHSAA 4-A Regional Baseball Championship.
VanDuyn pitched a complete game, surrending his only run (which was unearned) in the 7th innning when the game was virtually decided. He struck out 7 batters while scattering 7 hits.
The Regional Championship is the 2nd straight for Penn. They will now face Crown Point in the 4-A Semi-State on Saturday at the Cove.

In the 3-A Regional Championship, Northwood made a tremendous comeback late in the game to force extra innings against St. Joseph.
In the top of the 9th, Louis Ruszkowski hit a 2-run home run to give St. Joseph the 3-A Regional Title, 6-4 over Northwood.
St. Joseph will face 32-0 Norwell in the 3A Semi-State Saturday at Plymouth. Norwell features Pitcher Jarrod Parker, a projected 1st round selection in Thursday's Major League Baseball Draft.
