All during his recruitment, Buford High School (Georgia) defensive tackle Omar Hunter was thought to be a lock for Michigan. This past weekend, Hunter visited both Notre Dame and UM. Late Monday afternoon, Hunter announced that he was changing his mind as he cast his lot with the Irish.
Hunter who is 6'1, 290 plays for Buford High School in suburban Atlanta. That the same high school that produced Irish standout Darius Walker.
Among the schools who offered Hunter other than ND and Michigan were USC, LSU, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Alabama
Hunter is the 14th verbal commitment for Notre Dame in the current recruiting season
