Gary Sheffield returned to his home area of Tampa Bay on Tuesday and responded with a pair of homers as the Tigers demolished the Devil Rays 14-2 at the Trop. The Tigers pounded Tampa Bay pitching for 22 hits in the win.
Justin Morneau and Jason Kubel each homered as the Twins pounded the Sox again, 9-2. For the second straight night, Chicago pitching allowed the Twins to rap 22 hits, which is a season-high for the Sox opponents in a single game.
