It was a home run fest at Wrigley Field Saturday.
Five homers were hit in the game, the biggest coming from Derek Lee in the bottom of the 8th inning. Pinch-hitting after the Cubs just regained a 7-6 lead, Lee jacked a Grand Slam to give the Cubs an 11-6 win. The Cubbies put up 6 runs in the inning.
Earlier in the game, Michael Barrett homered in the 5th inning to tie the game at 3. A few batters later, pitcher Jason Marquis jacked a 2-run shot to deep center to give the Cubs a 5-3 lead.
Marquis quickly gave the lead up in the 6th when Joe Crede took him yard for a 2-run homer tying the game at 5.
In the top of the 8th, Paul Konerko hit his 38th interleague home run to give the Sox a 6-5 lead.
The Cubs scored two runs in the bottom half before Lee came to the plate and hit the grand slam.
The Cubs have won the first two games of the Cross Town Classic. Game 3 is Sunday at 2:20.
