23-10 and running away with the division. That's the case (pun intended) for the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brew Crew has the best record in baseball and, at least for now, no team is close to Milwaukee in the NL Central. While the Cubs, Pirates, Astros, Reds and CArdinals try and find some traction, the Brewers are doing everything in high gear.
Right now, JJ Hardy is playing better than any infielder in the game (that includes A-Rod) while the power is coming from Hardy, Prince Fielder, and Geoff Jenkins.
The pitching has been outstanding with Chris Capuano a true ace while the bullpen combo of Derrick Turnbow and Francisco Cordero has been lights out.
So how has the surge of the Brewers happened ? Very simple. The ownership was patient and waited for the young players to develop. The perfect example is Rickie Weeks. He was allowed to make his mistakes over the past few seasons and is now among the best in the game. There is also a great influx of veterans like Craig Counsell, Kevin Mench, Damian Miller and Gabe Gross.
There is a lot of baseball left to be played, but unless there is a major injury or a week-long losing streak, the Brewers are in good shape already. Believe it
