Irish Can't Complete the Sweep

The first two games of this weekend's series against Seton Hall could not have gone any better for Notre dame. Both games resulted in wins and the Irish were above .500 in Big East play for the first time all season.

But that all came to an end in game three of the series today at Frank Eck Stadium as Seton Hall pounded ND 15-1. The Irish are now 10-10 in the Big East, a half-game ahead of South Florida for 5th place in the conference.

The first inning was a complete disaster for ND. They gave up 7 runs on just 2 hits. Sam Elam, who flirted with perfection a few weeks back, could not get out of the first inning. He actually did not give up a hit in the first, but walked 3 batters and had two wild pitches before being pulled after 2/3 of an inning of work.
