Cubs Sweep Nationals with 10-inning Comeback

Entering Sunday, the Cubs had not won a single game when trailing after 8 innings and had yet to win an extra inning affair.

Both of those streaks ended at Wrigley Field today as the Cubs defeated the Nationals 4-3 to complete a series sweep.

Ryan Theriot drove in the game-tying run in the 9th to force extras and in the 10th Daryle Ward won it with a deep single to left field to bring in the winning run.

Ryan Dempster picked up the win. He is 1-1 on the year.

The Cubs are now 15-14 on the year.
