Phelps Phantastic in Irish win

David Phelps was once again Phantastic for the Irish.

The sophomore pitched his 2nd consecutive complete game, striking out a career-high 11 while giving up just one run in a 3-1 Irish win over Seton Hall.

Notre Dame is now 9-9 in the Big East. It is the first time this season they are at .500 in league play. The Irish are now in sole possession of 5th place in the conference.

Phelps is now 8-3 on the season. He has a sparkling 1.58 ERA, 6th lowest in the nation. He is a top contender for the Big East Pitcher of the Year honors.

The Irish will face Seton Hall again on Saturday at 1PM at Frank Eck Stadium.
