Hundreds of students packed the Cove Tuesday to watch a little baseball.
It is all part of School Day at Coveleski Stadium.
Students packed the stadium to watch the Silver Hawks, and of course eat a hotdog or two.
Officials say, it is a great way for the Silver Hawks to support community schools. “A lot of the teachers will actually tie in a baseball educational element that they teach in the classroom and this is kind of a reward for academics or attendance. So it's a nice way to reward the students for their hard work that they do in the classroom,” explains Silverhawks representative, Amy Hill.
South bend, Jimtown and Dowagiac were just a few of the schools involved in today's event.
