On Saturday, you had the battle at the quarterbacks, the running backs, the wide receivers, the defensive backs and well, just about every position.

You had two legends returning to coach and you had fabulous weather.

It certainly led to the most historic Blue Gold game in Notre Dame’s history.

With 51,852 spectators on hand for the 78th annual spring game, it was nearly 10,000 more than the previous record.

Fans got to see the 4 quarterbacks in action for the first time and got to see coaching legends Lou Holtz and Ara Parsegian return to their favorite place---the Notre Dame Stadium sidelines.

It certainly felt like September again at Notre Dame Stadium.

The gold team was victorious in the end winning 10 to 6.
