John Woodruff's South Bend Adams softball team is off to quite the start so far in 2007.

The Eagles continued their winning ways this afternoon, defeating Clay 4-1. The win was the 8th of the season for S.B. Adams (8-1) and their 2nd in the Northern Indiana Conference (2-1).

The game was scoreless until the 3rd. Thats when senior Frances Valente led off the inning with a triple to right field. Angela Gillis then lined a shot to shortstop. Colonial Angela Miller almost made a spectacular catch but was unable to hang on and Valente scored on the RBI single. Two batters later, Katie Gapinski singles in Gillis and Adams is up 2-0.

Clay would get a run back in the bottom of the 3rd, but the offense would end there as Adams would go on to the 4-1 win.
