The balance of power in Southwest Michigan continues to swing back-and-forth.
Friday night, it swung back to St. Joseph.
The Bears avenged a regular season heartbreaker to the arch-rival, scoring a touchdown in the final four minutes to beat Lakeshore 19-16 to win the Division 3 District Championship in front of a great crowd at Dickinson Stadium.
St. Joe trailed the whole game until Jammal Jackson's touchdown in the 2nd half put the Bears up 12-10.
Lakeshore answered with a touchdown of its own to regain the lead, 16-12.
But Tyler Curtis had the last say with a touchdown with 3:30 left in the game to give St. Joe the win.
This is the 4th straight time St. Joe and Lakeshore have met for the district championship, with each school now winning twice.
In the regular season meeting at Dickinson Stadium, St. Joe led 28-10 at halftime before Lakeshore scored 29 unanswered in the 2nd half for the win.
The Bears (9-2) will go on the road to face undefeated East Grand Rapids next week in Regionals.

Elsewhere in Michigan, Berrien Springs is a district champion after defeating Kelloggsville 35-26 to win the Division 5 championship.
The Shamrocks (9-2) have won five straight games and will go on the road to face Muskegon Heights (9-2) in regionals.

In Division 6, Constantine romped Watervliet 47-0 to win the District Championship.
The 9-2 Falcons will host 9-2 Bronson next Friday in Regionals.
