The Navy Midshipmen coming into Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday looking to beat the Irish for the 2nd time in three years.

Of course, the last time Navy was in South Bend, they shocked the Irish with a triple overtime victory in 2007 for the Midshipmen's first win in the series in 43 years.

Navy Senior linebacker and captain Ross Pospisil was on the field when Navy pulled off the unbelievable win.

His said this week it will go down as the greatest moment of his college career and that it was a moment and experience he can't really describe.

He said he could feel at the time the weight of past Navy players being lifted and that it was a special day for the entire Academy.

Prior to 2007, the last win for Navy over Notre Dame came three weeks before the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

The Midshipmen suffered a setback last week, losing at home to Temple to drop to 6-3 on the season. Navy quarterback Ricky Dobbs returned from injury at the end of the game but it wasn't enough to help the Midshipmen win.

Dobbs missed most of the last two games but will be good to go Saturday against Notre Dame.

Despite already having six wins, Navy is still not bowl eligible because they will play 13 games in the regular season. That is happening because they will play at Hawaii and there is a special NCAA rule that allows for an extra to be played if Hawaii is on a team's schedule.

In a 13 game regular season, a team must win 7 games to be bowl eligible.

So Navy certainly has a lot on the line this weekend.
