Bullpen Costs Cubs Game

The Cubs spent money in the off-season to sure up their bats and their starting pitching. Apparently, the bullpen could have used a little money too.

Up 2-1 in the 7th, Cubs reliever Will Ohman gave up an RBI single to Jeff Conine to the tie game up. Two walks and a wild pitch later, a passed ball by catcher Michael Barrett brought in the game-winning run.

In the 8th, Scott Hatteberg hit a 2-run home run to insure the Reds 5-2 win.

The Cubs got another solid effort from its starting pitching. Jason Marquis allowed just one run on four hits throuugh six innings.

Chicago begins a 3-game series at Milwaukee tomorrow night.
