The large amount of young players on the Irish football for 2007 means that the job of team captain will be very important for Notre Dame football in the coming season. On Saturday, Charlie Weis announced which players will serve as captains.
Tom Zbikowski will be back for his second tour of duty as a captain as will Travis Thomas. They will be joined by linebacker Maurice Crum and tight end John Carlson.
Weis also announced that sophomore-to-be Munir Prince will move to corner for the remainder of the spring. Prince requested the chance to move to the secondary. Rookie Gary Gray will miss the remainder of spring practice with an arm injury
