Irish begin spring football drills

The Irish lost a boatload of talented players to graduation but Charlie Weis was very forceful when he said on Wednesday that, "tradition never graduates."

Weis also said that every player will be 100 per cent to start spring practice including the three freshmen who entered at the semester break. They are Armando Allen, Jimmy Clausen and Gary Gray.

Weis said that he will be more involved than ever in working with the quarterbacks. The four in the running to succeed Brady Quinn are Clausen, Evan Sharpley, Demetrius Jones and Zach Frazer.

Spring practice will end on April 21st with the annual Blue-Gold game.
