USC gets 'Irish' welcome to Notre Dame Stadium

It wasn't quite like 2005, but USC was greeted by a rowdy crowd when it arrived at Notre Dame Stadium Friday afternoon for its walk thru.

Secruity had the roads blocked off so fans couldn't get to close to the Trojan busses as they pulled in.

That didn't stop USC coach Pete Carroll from going up to the crowd and greeting them.

Carroll said after the walk thru that it was cool to see the turnout and excitement from the Irish faithful.

He also was quick to mention that the grass at the Stadium was in a tip-top shape and certainly not an issue like some 'claimed' it was in the past. Carroll went out of his way to point out he never thought it was an issue in the past and certainly not now.

Carroll called the USC-Notre Dame rivalry classy and something that stands out in the college football world.
