The biggest high school football game of the season in Southwest Michigan lived up to the hype Friday night.
Trailing 28-10 at halftime, Lakeshore made a remarkable comeback, scoring 29 unanswered to beat arch-rival St. Joe in front of a wild crowd at Dickinson Stadium in our Pizza Hut Spotlight Game of the Week.
Lakeshore, now 7-1, moves into a first place with the Bears in the Southwest Athletic Conference.
St. Joe took a 28-10 lead in the 2nd quarter on a 56 yard touchdown run by quarterback Sean Guinane.
But the Lancers came back in the 3rd, quarterback Eric Lemon scrambled and found Jordan Coffman for a touchdown to make it 28-17.
Then Nick Adams went untouched for a huge touchdown run and Lakeshore converted its 2-point conversion attempt to make it 28-25.
In the 4th, Lemon hit Adam Miller for the go-ahead touchdown. Miller capped off the unbelieavble turnaround with a gigantic 60 yard touchdown run to seal the win.
St. Joe drops to 6-2 on the season.
