Notre Dame's Mike Brey has been named Big East coach of the year.
The Fighting Irish, chosen eleventh in the coaches' preseason poll, finished fourth in the league with a 23-6 record.
John MacLeod, the only other Notre Dame coach to win the award, claimed the honor in 1997.
Georgetown junior forward Jeff Green was selected the Big East player of the year.
He averaged nearly 14 points and six rebounds and led the Hoyas to their first regular season title since 1989.
