Irish get two commitments for football

Both Braxston Cave and John Goodman still have a senior year of football left but both of them have already decided on which college they will attend.

They became the second and third commitments for the recruiting class of 2008 on Sunday.

Cave is a 6'4, 295 center from Penn High School. He's from the same high school as former Irish All-America and captain, Mike Rosenthal. Cave had offers from Michigan and Indiana and also was drawing attention from Florida.

Goodman plays at Fort Wayne Dwenger and is a 6'5, 195 wide receiver who is eerily similar to another northern Indiana star from Notre Dame, consensus All-American, Jeff Samardzija.

Goodman had offers from Michigan, Kentucky, Indiana, Purdue and Iowa but chose Notre Dame when offered by head coach, Charlie Weis
